Adobe Premiere: Onboarding and Learn

Getting started in Premiere has always meant fending for yourself a dense interface, scattered help, and a Learn panel most editors never opened. With this project I set out to fix that. It's an intent-driven welcome that meets colorists the moment they arrive and shows them the most important bits in context, instead of leaving them to piece it together alone.

My Role:
  • Explored directions: Researched, brainstormed, and ideated possible onboarding solutions, then brought them to stakeholders and made the case for the approach we should pursue.

  • Designed and shipped it: Once aligned, I owned the specs and implemented the final beta experience within a tight timeframe.

  • Drove the delivery: Collaborated across content, marketing, PM, and engineering to get it out the door on time.

Duration:

2.5 months with a phased approach

  • Phase 1 (Research and Exploration): 1 month

  • Phase 2 (Spec Delivery and Implementation): 1.5 month

Some Metrics (As of 3 months post beta launch):
  • The in-product onboarding system I designed for NCX, spanning the "Try Color Mode" nudge and guided Color Mode onboarding flow reached 60% of Monthly Active Users during Beta, with a 38% click-through rate on the core nudge.

  • Nearly half of color MAU (46%) completed the full onboarding flow. This coverage and engagement gave the team confidence to move into General Availability without needing to invest in additional awareness surfaces.

This is under the wraps for now. Reach out to me to know more.
